The Dark Knight Strikes Back Again But This Time In Arkham City

      

            I have finally managed to play one of the most anticipated games of the year which is “Batman Arkham City” on the PS3 Console. Arkham City is developed by a little known developer how’s name is Rocksteady studios.

            Since that time and as history has proved games based on superhero comic books didn’t sell very well due to the fact that they have failed to impress the fans, because they offered poor gameplay and a bad storyline, But things changes and a way back to be exactly on August,25 2009 Rocksteady changed ,revalorized and impressed the comic gamers around the world by releasing one of the best looking comics book game “Batman Arkham Asylum”.

            Batman Arkham City is an open world action video game and it was released last month on Oct 18, 2011 and in my opinion it features one of the best opening in gaming. The Story line is rich and deep and it takes places 18 months after  the sequel Arkham Asylum.

Mary Quincy Sharp has sectioned off a portion of Gotham City which then it was renamed Arkham City and became the new Arkham Asylum. Batman or “Bruce Wayne” than it has been arrested under highly questionable circumstance and was brought into the City and imprisoned. Into the prison than he was targeted by many of his fellow enemies and so he made up his mind and decided that he must find a way out to escape and also to stop and find out what was the real intention of the diabolical Doctor Hugo Strange . Dr Strange knows the secret of Bruce and was one of the batman’s earliest foes.

Once Into the city for the detective Batman it will not be easy task as he will have to face many difficulties and encounter goons with amour, shields, stun rods, guns and as well as many well-known bosses from the comic book series like the

Joker, Two Faces, penguin and much more.

The visuals of the game are fantastic and the gameplay has also been drastically improved from the previous title due to the fact that Batman it has been equipped with a lot of new useful and upgradable gadgets and abilities so that to fly,

Investigate and battle around the city.

Also the combat system is very fluid and you will be able to unlock many useful counters and special moves. The game was also expanded with the addition of four hundred Ridler trophies, numerous side quests, multiple numbers of challenges maps and also a robust character bio.

I had the opportunity to play the previous game and from my calculations it offered over 12-15 hours of game play. Well I have a surprise for you as that in “Arkham city” their is no exception as according to Rockstaedy to complete 100% the game you will have to spend over 40 hours and this figure does not even include the challenge Maps, simply fantastic.

In my personal opinion the only disappointments of the game were that there are no vehicles available like for example the bat mobile to ride and use through the city, sometimes the villains repeat the same lines over and over again, the boss battles are a bit too easy and also their is a lack of multiplayer mode which may be seen as a minus point by some gamers.

              All in all everything in the game is fantastic and it is worth playing for sure. I felt that I was the Dark Knight and It will definitely keep you hooked because it is so addictive that it will never pass from your mind to put down the controller and turn off the game.

As a final verdict I will give the game what it merits

release another game but with a different

Superhero character.
